In 2015, Nancy Korsah, working at a major bank in Charlotte, North Carolina, began assisting colleagues with resume writing and career advancement. Despite facing backlash for advocating for pay equity and career growth for people of color, Nancy's efforts led to promotions and new opportunities for over 400 individuals by 2017.
By 2018, Nancy’s mentorship had expanded significantly, helping over 1,400 minorities secure higher-paying jobs across the country. Her dedication to empowering others continued to grow, focusing on career development and education to ensure long-term success and advancement for those she mentored.
In 2020, Nancy launched the inaugural Black Business Ball in Minneapolis. This event aimed to unite and celebrate Black-owned businesses, provide small grants, and spotlight their contributions to the community. It was a significant step toward healing and supporting local Black entrepreneurs.
Throughout 2021, Nancy, with support from friends and family, invested hundreds of thousands of dollars into her community. Her contributions, including donations and resource allocation, addressed pressing needs, culminating in the establishment of a formal 501(c)(3) organization in February 2022.
With 501(c)(3) status granted in February 2022, Nancy’s organization officially expanded its mission. The years following saw continued growth, increased support for Black-owned businesses, and further community investment, solidifying the foundation’s role in fostering economic empowerment and equity.
